Dr. Patty Makowski

Dr. Patty Makowski chose her career at the age of ten. Her grandfather owned a dairy farm in Huntington County, which she spent countless hours helping on the farm, especially at milking time. Sadie one of her favorite cows developed hardware disease and died suddenly. Her grandfather’s veterinarian could do nothing to save Sadie’s life. This made such a deep impression, that she vowed to help animals for the rest of her life. After graduating from Bluffton High School in 1980, she attended Purdue University.

Dr. Makowski joined the Honegger Animal Clinic in 1987 after graduating from Purdue with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a DVM. Her focus is on small animal medicine and surgery. She has served on the Wells County Health Board for many years and is an avid supporter of the Wells County 4-H program.

Dr. Makowski is married to her husband Joel and has two children Nick and Rachel. Both children are graduates of Purdue. Nick has a food science degree and Rachel an animal science degree. In her spare time, Dr. Makowski likes to quilt, read, cook, and travel! Spending time with her family and caring for animals are her passions in life.
